There are many ways to gain permanent residence status or get a resident visa inCanada.
The humanitarian and compassionate (H&C) category can be one way in which certain foreign nationals who otherwise do not qualify for any other immigration class can come to Canada. Applicants just need to have compelling grounds for immigration that fall under the H&C category.
When applying, you can add any relevant information that has affected you or the applicant's circumstances that you think would qualify your application for H&C consideration.
If the immigration officer approves an H&C application, they are able to disregard any inadmissibility and grant you status, including permanent resident status.
A common myth is that If you are physically present in Canada for more than8-10 years you can apply easily. This is not true.
